Latest Building Consent Statistics for June 2011

Building Consents Issued: June 2011

Highlights
In the month of June 2011:

The seasonally adjusted number of new dwellings authorised, excluding apartments, fell 4.5 percent, following rises in each of the previous three months.
The trend for the number of new dwellings authorised, excluding apartments, indicates a small increase recently, but a turning point is not yet confirmed.
Earthquake-related consents identified in Canterbury totalled $14 million, including eight new dwellings.

For the year ended June 2011, compared with the previous year, the total value of consents issued for:

residential buildings was $4,932 million, down $805 million (14 percent)
non-residential buildings was $3,704 million, down $166 million (4.3 percent).

Wangapeka Way is close to completion. Using the latest home star rated systems the project has achieved a 6-7 star rating, which is one of the first of its kind in the residential market for Wellington.

Forturo Becomes an Home Star Accredited Professional for the The New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC)

The New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) is a not-for-profit, industry organisation dedicated to accelerating the development and adoption of market-based green building practices.
Green building research and knowledge is a critical to achieving our vision of New Zealanders living and working in healthy, efficient, productive and environmentally sustainable building, today and into the future. Providing access to networks, information and resources for our members to actively lead the market is one of our key objectives.

Simon Law of Forturo is now an Home Star Accredited Professional.

As a Home Star Accredited Professional trained in the skills necessary to generate a high quality Home Star project submission. Providing an in-depth knowledge of the Home Star suite of rating tools and a comprehensive understanding of the rigorous details required to process a successful Home Star submission

He will be kept up to date through case studies, newsletters, research publications and links to international best practice. NZGBC is also proud to support, and contribute to, a range of research initiatives currently underway on green building in New Zealand.
